6 Places I Would Rather Be Than Class

6 Places I Would Rather Be Than Class

Tired of class?
Don't want to be here?
Do you want to get up and leave?

Because SAME

Here are 7 places I would rather be than class...

1. Bed
If the teacher is just standing there going on and on and on about nothing in their monotoned voice I am more than likely going to fall asleep.  So I mine as well sleep in my designated sleeping spot.

2. The Beach
I want to go back to when my biggest worry was if I forgot to put sunscreen on. I miss the sand between my toes and people watching at the beach.

                                                3. Disney World
They call it the happiest place on Earth for a reason. I have not been to Disney since I was little, but that does not change the fact that I want to return there and relive my childhood for a future vacation.

                                              4. Hot Air Balloon
I'm not exactly sure how this would work out with my fear of heights, but it is definitely on my bucket list still. It is a good way to check out the best views around.

5.Valley Dining
9 out of 10 times that I am thinking about something other than my work in class it is about food. Valley dining has such a wide variety of what to eat. They have EVERYTHING. It is a blessing and a curse.

6.  This Garden
Sometimes all we need is some fresh air. This peaceful and tropical garden is the perfect get a way spot to relax.  My only suggestion is bring bug spray.

My Roommate Perspective

Going into college most people here knew at least one other person. Whether that person was from their high school, a friend, a friend of a friend, i think you are getting my point... Although for me I knew absolutely no one. I went to a Michigan college all the way from Texas. I am basically from another country. Ironically Texas used to be its own country. Before I arrived at college I feared having a weird room mate who is a complete slob and who will steal my food when I am not around. I had this fear consuming me because of the decision I made to go in blind. My room mate is never on campus during the weekends because she goes home every Thursday and comes back sometime Sunday from 1-6 in the morning. I know this because she feels the need to turn on the main light in the room waking me up from my slumber. It is very annoying, but being the passive person I am I do not say anything about it because if I start a fight/argument I know for sure my room mate will want to finish it. I for real got paired up with the most childish freshmen in college I swear. We have had a few problems, but when you go from living alone to sharing a room with a complete stranger you are bound to run into differences. I get along with my room mate for the most part, but she tells me she has a hard time getting along with everyone, which is definitely noticeable.  She for the most part sticks to herself. She honestly hates Western. I certainly don't hate Western, I just hate living in a negative vibe about Western. Moral of the story is do not go in blind. A lot has happened between my room mate and I that I did not write here.... If anyone has any tips or coping methods of any sort
please feel free to comment them below.

WMU vs. CMU

Rivalries can get pretty serious...
Especially when it comes to Western and Central competing against each other.
This year the WMU vs. CMU game was held at Central. So for the weekend I decided to go up to Central for the game and the weekend. I stayed with my cousin because she is a freshmen at CMU. Friday we went out and had fun, but I kept hearing a few phrases being overused to the point where it is annoying. If I had a dime for every time someone said "fire up" I would be rich. The whole weekend I was harassed by chips asking me what "Row the boat" even means. The whole entire time I am thinking what does "fire up" even mean. Saturday was game day and tailgating was fun leading up to the game. The game was fun, but we left after a while when the score isn't close anymore it really isn't that fun to watch.  So many chips were trash talking me talking about how they are going to win, but when the second quarter came along that definitely stopped. Overall, it was a fun way to start October. Western won staying undefeated while also managing to be nationally ranked for the first time in program history and the chips lost yet another game.
Row the boat!

Living in Valley II

Living in Valley II definitely has its pros and cons.
Pros
I love being able to park my car close to my dorm. The valley II parking lot is never completely full so there is always somewhere to park. When I get hungry I love having such a short walk to Valley Dining. It is about the only thing that is a close walk so I try to take advantage of it.  Valley II has it's own personal gym because it is the health professions community and it promotes healthy living.
Cons
There is no air conditioning. This was really only a problem when school first began because it has cooled down now. Unfortunately, Valley II is located on a giant hill. The walk up the hill is long and annoying and I dread it every time. I usually end up having to walk up the Valley III hill first, then taking the staircase or path that leads to Valley II just to avoid the hill. Valley II is also located on the very tip of Western Michigan's hilly campus making it far from all my classes.
